Resting

It is heartening to report that Lewis and Lovett are back to full strength this week, although us parents are left dragging, envious of the vigor of the 6-8 year old body and immune system. My energy was so low this week that when Lewis and Lovett came down to the pigs to help me with chores on Friday when school was canceled due to weather, we spent over an hour resting in the hay enjoying the company of the curious and playful pigs.

I spent the time resting on my back in the hay, with the occasional twitch to keep an investigating pig nibble from piercing my rubber boots. Lewis and Lovett coaxed yet another pig into a full on belly rub, and we learned that Scratchums also likes a scratch under the chin, and in the “pig-pit” (pigs don’t have arms, so they can’t have an armpit…)

The fog of whatever virus whipped our house still lingers and Racey and I are about as mobile as a pig resting in the hay. Slow signs of improvement keep me optimistic.

Let us know what we can bring you this week.
