With Nathan still doing important healing work on his back, we’re keeping things going with lots of creativity and help. The kids do chores with Racey before school somedays. Chad and Gwen provide the all-around back up support and knowledge about everything and anything (chicken chores, fixing waterlines, brainstorming, troubleshooting, short-term planning) on top of their normal tasks (moving cows, chicken slaughter, horses). This week, Holly Stretch and John Bingham (Racey’s Dad) got batch 5 of chickens out to the field. Lily did chicken chores and helped Bunker (Nathan’s Dad) and Dita (Nathan’s Mom) get the shade tarps on the field coops in anticipation of today’s heat. Our second chicken slaughter of 2021 went great thanks to Chad, Gwen, Benji, Lily, Popino, Stretch, Racey and Kirsten.
Friends came to keep Nathan company. All five grandparents are in the area and helped manage getting the children to and from school and kept them happy and engaged. Uncle Bean came home (he lives in our basement) to support his brother instead of taking vacation in PA this week.
We are so grateful for everyone’s support, and so glad you all continue to buy our food.
