We’re Going For It…

I’ve started this blog as a way to stay in touch with you, our customer. We believe that it is not just our job to grow food you can trust, but to help you understand the decisions we face as farmers, so you can make informed choices as eaters.

Below and in the following posts you’ll find excerpts from past emails I have sent to our email list. My hope is to continue to tell our story and answer questions through this blog rather than just email. This way the content can be available for all to see and easier to look back through.

Below is an email from May 18, 2020:

First boxes going out to our first home delivery customers

We’ve wondered how to make getting meat from us easier…

So here’s the idea: let FedEx do the work:) In light of these unprecedented times, when we just don’t have time to make deliveries, and most folks are not headed out as much as usual. So we’ve spent the last few weeks building a new online ordering platform and logistics system to help us get what we have to you even faster.

Now you can order meat from us and have it delivered right to your door! For Local folks we are offering curbside pickup for all orders on Wednesdays. (Now pickup is on Mondays.)

We need your help spreading the word. With restaurants and other wholesale accounts closed for the foreseeable future, we need your help to spread the word and let folks know they can get our Pasture-Raised, Organically Fed Chicken delivered right to their doorstep! We also have 100% grass-fed beef and pastured pork to offer.

A Few Common Questions

So How Does It Work?

  • Go to our website
  • Enter your zip code to make sure we can get it to your door.
  • Fill your shopping cart ($75 order minimum for home delivery).
  • We’ll ship our first boxes on Wednesday 5.27 (Now we ship on Mondays) and most folks will have their order by Thursday or Friday (which is now Tuesday and Wednesdays)!

How much does shipping cost?

  • We have an order minimum of $75.
  • We charge $14.99 for shipping and handling.
  • Orders over $149 get free shipping!

How does this change what you do?

The biggest change for us is we do not do the butchering for the beef and the pork. This does mean that for those of you used to our pork sausage, these will be different flavors from our friends at Maple Ridge Meats in Benson, VT and Vermont Packing House in Springfield, VT.

We also hope that this means we can get more of our meat out to more people AND it will be available year round if we can keep the freezer stocked!
