Building Together

We have some exciting news…

I have always loved working with people and especially with other farmers. So when a global pandemic threatened to isolate us, I began to wonder how to bring more people into our lives…

So we switched our sales model to online sales with orders filled every week, and the response from you our customers was enthusiastic and so exciting for us. We found ourselves with a new problem: sold out of beef and pork in just a few short months! Sold out is a great problem to have:) But then I got to thinking about some farmer friends out there who love raising animals like we do. They share the same passion for agriculture that builds soil, straightens the ecology around them and is nutritionally dense and delicious. It’s a win/win: we continue to bring excellent meat to you and we support the farm businesses we love and respect.

We are proud to announce that we will be sourcing 100% Grassfed Beef from our friends Ben, Kelly, Nancy and Helm Notterman of Snug Valley Farm in East Hardwick VT. Ben and I first connected as we were looking for folks to buy our feeder cattle that we have during the grazing season. Ben shares the same passion for grazing, cattle, grass, soil and animal well being and we are currently scheming to see how our two grazing operations can benefit each other and are looking forward to years of partnership ahead.

We are also proud to announce that we will be sourcing Pasture Raised, Non-GMO Pork from our friends at Windy Meadows Farm in Clemons, NY. John and his family raise their own piglets on pasture using locally grown, Non-GMO grain. We searched long and hard for a farmer who grows pasture raised pigs using Organic Grain and we came up empty handed. Please let us know your thoughts and preferences on the matter.

And perhaps most exciting of all…we have Artisanal Cultured Butter to offer from Gold Bar Butter. Gold Bar is run by our good friend Kelsie, who has been a butter maker for as long as I’ve known her.🙂 Taste it while you can, this stuff sells fast!

Also, Whole Chickens are back in stock! Order now for delivery next week, or stock up and order a whole case!

I’ll leave you with one last image from the farm: my brother Dakin, who has been a member of our household now since April, arrived home from a long Bike Packing Trip with some friends (and 2nd? cousin Dan!). They drove out into the Adirondacks for 2 hours, and rode home riding part of The Adirondack Trail Ride. They arrived home just as an Amish buggy clopped by!

Take Care,

Nathan
